Official Bio

Aimee Morgan is the owner of Good Aim Communications—goodaimcommunications.com—a WBE-certified strategic marketing communications company that specializes in website development, content creation and digital marketing. She’s spent over 15 years in the marketing field honing her craft.

Her successful work includes an Emmy-award-winning video ad series and a Public Relations Society of America Pinnacle Award for the Spirit & Place Festival marketing campaign.

Aimee discovered the path to mindfulness the way many people do—by facing hard times. Raised in Spiceland, Indiana, and married at 20 while an undergraduate, Aimee built her life around her marriage, faith and career. However, a crisis of faith, career setbacks and relational struggles left her feeling powerless and adrift. After a life-threatening miscarriage, Aimee started to realize how unhappy she’d become. Her life was in chaos.

Aimee began to train both her mind and body through the practice of mindfulness. She completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, where she learned how to accept discomfort instead of reacting to it—and how to be grateful and let joy sink in. She spent years studying, practicing and discussing the value of mindfulness, self-care and healthful ways of living, unearthing the trans- formative power of the present moment.

Aimee graduated cum laude from Butler University, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and Spanish. She’s currently pursuing a master of fine arts degree in creative writing. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Jeff, and their two young children. The Chaos Antidote: A Fable About Mindfulness is her first book. Author Q&A: The five Ws

WHO:

I, Aimee Morgan, the author of The Chaos Antidote: A Fable About Mindfulness, am a business owner, wife and mom. I’m not a monk, an ordained minister, or even a certified yoga instructor. But I’m a woman/wife/mother/businessowner who’s faced pain and found a more fulfilling and joyful way of living for myself.

I developed a daily practice that includes original, mindful journal prompts (the GLOWY daily reflection practice) that I’ll share with you in my book, The Chaos Antidote: A Fable About Mindfulness. I found an antidote to chaos—and I want to share it with you.

WHAT:

The Chaos Antidote: A Fable About Mindfulness is a parable filled with practical steps for developing mindfulness.

You’ll follow the story of Meghan, a distracted writer who’s a married mother of twin girls; Simone, a spirited single parent facing a professional crisis; and Lucia, a young engineer who must face a life-altering health issue. With the help of their inspiring leader, Veda, the women learn practical, life-changing skills to find an antidote to chaos.

Join their journey to learn what mindfulness truly is and how it can benefit you. Here’s a secret: mindfulness is not just sitting on a cushion! You’ll also be equipped with practical tools to establish a daily mindfulness practice, so you can help resolve any chaos that may exist in your own life.

The lessons of mindfulness contained in this book transformed my life. It’s my sincere hope that this book inspires, encourages and empowers you, so your life shines, illuminating the path for others.

WHEN:

I’ve spent thousands of hours over the last few years studying and practicing mindfulness and creating this book.

WHERE:

The book is set in the Midwest. I’m from the Midwest, Indianapolis, Indiana specifically.

WHY:

Not long ago I found myself struggling, running from pain and unhappiness. I realized that I must cultivate a different way of living: I needed to learn how to stop and heal.

Amidst the trial-and-error of healing and learning, I opened my heart to many women and heard their stories of struggle: loss of direction, chronic anxiety, physical suffering and haunting pasts. My voracious pursuit of knowledge led me to an unexpected path: the path of mindfulness.

I felt called to write The Chaos Antidote: A Fable About Mindfulness, a parable to help equip others with knowledge and skills to ease their suffering and find lasting peace and joy inside themselves.
